I do not know when my love of art began, perhaps when I was a baby and keep my eyes and attention on a Remedios Varo painting on the wall.
Time passed and I studied graphical design, bachelor’s and master’s degree at the Universidad Intercontinental… There I had my first encounter with the human figure, those classes on nude drawing were the most enjoyable of the curriculum. After the University I have taken several courses in art, drawing and painting, with artist like José Barbosa (MX) and Frances Turner (UK).
Some years ago I left my graphic designer work and focus all my time in painting... I decided to spend my life doing the thing that I do better and make me feel happy and creative : draw.
This road has but made hungrier for knowledge of the arts and cultures, desire to know subjects and a need to portray them on paper, capturing something in them by means of sight and letting it see the light in two dimensions with my hands.
Omar Alexis wrote for my first exhibition "Is undeniable that Norma belongs to the Plastic Arts, like clouds to the sky, the magic renews whenever the air of the creation emerges to offer new figures to us and surprise us in its metamorphosis" and I think he was quite right.
