Who uses the IAR Gallery ?
The IAR Gallery is widely used by individuals seeking to commission a work of
art, curators, researchers and buyers of contemporary Irish art. The service is
marketed extensively through relevant publications and online in Ireland and
internationally. It is registered and maintained with all the major online
search engines.
I am an Irish artist. How do I create a profile and gallery ?
See: Create a profile.
How can I contact an Artist on the IAR Gallery
Artists on the database can be contacted only through the contact information
they provide online. The IAR Administrator will not provide any additional
contact information for an artist except that which is displayed in their
biographical information.
Can I use the digital images in the Database for other uses ?
No. All content in on the IAR service is controlled by the IAR either through
copyright license of outright copyright ownership. The use of a digital image,
or any other content from the site, is strictly prohibited and protected by
international copyright law (see terms and conditions).
How often is the content on the site updated ?
Each individual artist is able to change their content as often as they wish
and many do so. The content on the site is constantly being updated.
Can an artist create more than one profile on the database?
No. Each artist is allowed to maintain only one profile and gallery of images.
What is the maximum number of images an artist can place in their Gallery ?
18.
Can artists change their Profile and Gallery information as often as they like ?
Yes.
What file format for the digital images does the service support ?
The IAR service supports .jpg images only. This is the standard format for
digital images from digital cameras and flat bed scans. The larger the
individual file size, the longer it will take to upload the image over the
internet.
How do I delete my Profile and Gallery from the Service
Only the IAR Administrator can delete an artist’s Profile and Gallery from the
database. To delete your Gallery, send an email to
administrator@irishartsreview.com or telephone 01 6793523. The IAR
Administrator will ask for your password to confirm your identification and
will delete your information immediately.
How much does it cost to create a Gallery?
The IAR Gallery is currently available for free. However, an annual
subscription charge will come into effect in the beginning of 2004 to recover
the costs of development and continuing maintenance costs. All Artists Members
will be notified before this charge is applied. Artists that do not subscribe
will have their profiles and gallery removed.
How long does an artist profile remain in the IAR Gallery ?
An artist’s profile remains hosted in the IAR Gallery as long as the individual
artist’s subscription is current. At present the IAR service is free, and all
profiles will remain available on the IAR Gallery unless a request is received
from the artist to remove theie profile. Once the subscription charge is
introduced, an artist profile will remain available for view only as long as
the subscription is valid. The subscription period on the service is for one
year. Email notification will be sent out to an artist in advance of their
subscription payment becoming due.
Is the IAR Online Gallery funded by the Arts Council of Ireland ?
No. The Irish Arts review applied to the Arts Council for funding to develop
and run the service in 2003 but its application for a capital grant was turned
down.
