Evgeniya Martirosyan has been awarded the Tactic/Sample Studios Graduate Residency and the National Sculpture Factory Graduate Residency 2016/2017.
She has also be awarded the Eli Lilly Purchase prize, Lavit Gallery Fledglings exhibition award and Cork Film Centre exhibition award.
New Generation Gallery 2016
Inspired by the core ideas in quantum physics and Buddhism, my work questions the reliability and stability of our reality. While matter is almost entirely empty, the idea of a permanent self at the centre of each of us is nothing more than an illusion. I attempt to capture the sense of fluidity and elusiveness of our reality by creating dynamic and interactive sculptural work.
