This portrait series, ‘The Boy’, functions as a socio-philosophical conversation, addressing the anxiety and mental duress present within the Irish male as a socially, culturally and developmentally created archetype. These portraits stand objectively as publically accessible records of intimate moments, creating an acceptable platform upon which the boy is praised for his vulnerability.
