Born in Wexford into an entrepreneurial family, Sinéad Brennan chose not to follow her siblings into the family business. Going to art college to study glass design was the first of many non-conventional steps she has taken to carve out a new kind of career path which led her to winning an RDS Craft Award bursary of €10,000 in May. And it couldn’t have come at a better time for her. Sinéad is one of a new breed of young Irish artists taking an untraditional approach by combining a variety of income sources to create a sustainable business.
