National Museum of Ireland, Kildare Street

I wish to support the IAR Appeal to An Taoiseach to call an immediate halt to the plan announced by the Government to move Seanad Éireann (however temporarily) into the National Museum building on Kildare Street in Dublin.

The integrity of the National Museum building, which is a Protected Structure and which houses our greatest national treasures, must not be violated under any circumstances. Nor should the need to accommodate the very irregular sittings of the Seanad be allowed to impinge on the long-established rights and functions of this important national cultural institution.
