Sarah Browne is one of sixty artists taking part in Bergen Assembly 2019. Browne’s practice uses sculpture, film, performance and public projects to explore ideas such as the health impacts of austerity on the individual and collective body. Her ‘The Shambles of Science’ includes a film work and sculptural installation, connecting texts from the early 1900s: diaries written by two feminist Swedish physiology students, active in anti-vivisection protests; and testimonies of suffragettes who were force-fed in Holloway prison.
