During the months of lockdown, Ranelagh-based artist Gerard Byrne created over fifty charcoal sketches and oil paintings en plein air. Beginning with rooftop scenes, Byrne moved out into the streets neighbouring his home, capturing the beauty of Dublin 6’s residential architecture. ‘Pause for Harmony – Art in Lockdown’ will be shown online as part of Culture Night on 18 September and in-person showings in the Gerard Byrne Studio.
