Chester Beatty Library, Dublin, presents a selection of highlights from their collection featuring works seldom on display. The alphabetically themed selection showcases the breadth and quality of the Library’s collection, such as printed travel books like the rare 1576 guide to the most famous islands of the world. The exhibition is an opportunity to explore the cultural link across the Western, Islamic and East Asian worlds, with the A for Amulet section presenting a series of 17th to 19th-century protective charms from a number of religious faiths. Rarely seen material from the Library’s archives offers a glimpse into Chester Beatty’s family and professional life.
