Works from Mick O’Dea’s on-going project centred on the War of Independence will be displayed at the Source Arts Centre in March. This exhibition, ‘The Cut of Them’, will include new large-scale pieces and others going on display for the first time. Based on historic photographs, O’Dea’s series invites viewers to look again at the iconography of this period, with gunmen of all hues holding the viewer’s gaze with swaggering poses, contrasted with a wary and opaque view of a flying column.
