Las Cuevas de Hércules is showing an exhibition by Trudi van der Elsen, whose recent works use digitisation as a source of abstraction. The speed and flickering of the virtual world creates a level of alienation and decoupling, while the slowness of the act of painting grounds these hyper-movements with multiple vanishing points in the image, representing our fragmented experiences. Although the finished work is a still image, it does not mean the image is still. The experience is enhanced by a soundscape from the composer Pierre Élie Mamou.
