My work is centred around the body and fragmented identity. I am drawn to the phenomenology of the body and it has been a large research area within my work. I have constantly struggled to place myself in the world and thus I have often found myself representing myself or the feminine figure in various forms – whether that be restricting the subject within the bounds of the canvas, leaving areas unfinished or sectioned off. I attempt to create an environment where others can question, "what it is to be and inhabit a body and evoke feelings of restraint and discomfort, while also creating a sense of comfort or familiarity."
