Over the past few years, I have developed a deep passion for fine art and sculpture, learning about my practice through exhibitions, commissions, and collaborations. My studies at the National College of Art & Design have strengthened my ability to experiment with materials, conceptualise ideas, and work both independently and within a creative community. College life has been instrumental in refining my ability to experiment with a diverse range of materials such as wood, clay, plaster and wax. Alongside college, my experience in retail and hospitality has also given me strong communicative and organisational skills, which I plan to use in my professional artistic development. These skills are essential for managing exhibition planning, networking with curators, and promoting my work within the art community. In the next two years after college, my main ambition is to establish myself as an independent artist by exhibiting my work and participating in group and solo exhibitions. I will actively seek opportunities to showcase my work in spaces such as Pallas Projects, The Complex, and The Dock, as well as engaging with contemporary galleries in Dublin. I also intend to explore opportunities for commissioned public art projects, expanding my practice in new and exciting directions. To achieve my goals, I will focus on expanding my portfolio and updating my technical skills. Attending arts events, collaborating with fellow artists, and connecting with curators will be essential in securing opportunities. Social media and online platforms like Instagram will also be key tools for marketing my work and reaching a wider audience. I also aim to focus on doing a course in Blender, which will allow me to create more structurally complex forms through 3D printing. I will strengthen my grant-writing and project management abilities to successfully apply for funding. I recognise the importance of professional networking and will actively collaborate with architects, designers, and curators to secure opportunities for public installations. I am committed to developing a sustainable career in the arts. My commitment is driven by my desire to push the boundaries of gender and materiality.
