I recently graduated with a degree in Design for Film, specialising in Costume Design. I'm incredibly passionate about sewing and creating costumes for both film and theatre. I love the creative process—especially diving deep into characters and designing costumes that visually support and enhance the story being told. For my graduate project, I chose The Age of Innocence, inspired by the 1993 film adaptation of Edith Wharton’s novel. Set in the early 1870s among New York’s upper class, the story explores the tension between personal desire and societal expectations in a world defined by strict appearances and duty. Through extensive research, character exploration, and design development, I created an 1870s evening gown for Countess Ellen Olenska, complete with period-accurate undergarments such as a bustle, corset and petticoat which creates the beautiful silhouette of this period.
