My name is Angela Duffy and I am a visual artist from County Mayo, Ireland. My practice is multidisciplinary, encompassing drawing, painting and three-dimensional works, with a preference for using natural materials and reusing or repurposing materials whenever possible. In addition to my studio work, I am an arts facilitator, collaborating with groups to foster creative engagement in the community. My current work is part of my MA research project which considers the ongoing connections between people, memory, nature and place across generations in relation to my home, the family farm-holding. Through my research, I am interested in exploring intergenerational inherited knowledge which encompasses language, materials, and objects. I employ an embodied approach to understanding place and its meanings, seeking to illuminate aspects that are often unseen and difficult to articulate.
