'Fleeting Permanence' is a process-led project that gradually resolved into a meditation on the fundamental paradox of existence; every action and every moment inevitably gives rise to its own contradiction. Everything unfolds along a continuum of opposing forces. What seems simple is also intricately complex, what appears complex is surprisingly simple. Life is exactly what you say it is, and not that at all. You are the centre of your universe, the vessel through which consciousness becomes aware of itself. Yet on the vast cosmic scale, the universe is rushing toward disintegration, and eventually, it will be as though nothing ever happened. The materials I choose crystallise with my ideas. Working in a waste-conscious manner, this project gives central focus to the jar. Transcending mere functionality it carries cultural content, personal memories, and spiritual resonance. It fosters a sense of belonging while opening up new possibilities. The glass jar is a reminder that nothing is fixed or permanent, but constantly recycled and reinvented, with meaning and purpose reassigned. The use of mirrors introduces perceptual confusion, calling into question which version of reality we are meant to believe. The viewer is positioned within the conceptual framework, using the mirror not just to reflect, but to question the reliability of perception and the limits of subjectivity. This is a response to a world in existential crisis, saturated with environmental anxiety, social fragmentation, and political polarisation. It acknowledges the human capacity for profound extremes – creation and destruction, hope and despair – each arising from the other.
