“We like to seek out the warmth of the past when things are not going well in the present.” – Hedwig Wiebes. Fabrics become tactile vessels of memory, holding together fragments of time and place. Comprising digital and screen printed techniques, "Le Souvenir de Massilia" is a womenswear print collection inspired by childhood summers spent with my grandparents in southern France. It evokes the fleeting beauty of recollection, transforming cloth into expressions of personal narrative. Each piece reflects my practice of using textiles as a language of remembrance to preserve the intangible. Colour, process and material act as emotional residues, holding space for stories of the past, an ode to embracing the nature of forgotten moments through the creation of physical mementos. This collection is a love letter to impermanence, an act of preserving what time quietly steals away. I invite the viewer to reflect, to remember, and to feel. This is slow-making as storytelling. This is memory made visible.
