As a French/Irish artist, I have always been fascinated by arts collision with the human body and how that causes movement, both within one's thoughts and physically expressed. This exploration of connections and movement brought on my most recent collection, ‘Magnetic Flow’.A magnetic field is constantly looping onto itself if left uninterrupted…This jewellery collection focuses on capturing the flow of these magnetic fields and expressing them through abstract shapes developed using the score-and-fold technique alongside wax carving. The curl of the magnetic field’s loop, being pulled and drawn away by a magnet, creates the base form, which highlights the interaction between the self and other. The pieces not only represent the interaction between people, but are interactive themselves. There are proactive and reactive pieces, allowing for varying levels of visible interaction through differences in spine length. The steel spines on one piece react to a magnet in another, expressing a fluidity as well as tension. This dynamic interplay reflects the coexistence and connectivity of each piece with its surroundings, just like a magnetic field.
