Working across photography, video, sculpture and installation, my practice explores the intersection of the poetic and the political. I am interested in the physical traces left by time, neglect, and regeneration, and how these processes mirror broader social and environmental conflicts. Drawing from nature, urban environments and the urgency of our political moment i aim to reflect these concerns in my work. I take an investigative approach to explore the effects of our impacts on land and how we interact with each other. I have a fascination for found objects exploring how delicate, domestic or discarded materials can carry complex narratives. For my graduate show, I created an installation exploring the precarious conditions of our time, showing states of ruin, renewal and the urge to fix, regrow and heal what is broken. In a darkened room, the installation contained different elements that all spoke to each other. Intermittently, a Rapeseed plant (a plant with soil healing properties) was programmed with an Arduino to tremble in a pile of rubble and soil. A video, projection mapped onto a suspended doily, showed hands fixing broken items and I created a print of hands reaching together on soot covered glass. Layered with this, was a sound piece of street interviews I conducted in Dublin city where I asked people how they felt about the future.
