I have a deep passion for painting and am continually drawn to the possibilities it offers as a means of exploring memory, emotion, and personal experience. I am particularly attracted to the immediacy of acrylic paint—the ability to work quickly, build layers, and develop rich relationships between colour, texture, and surface. The process of painting allows me to respond intuitively while gradually constructing images that hold both personal and universal significance. Nostalgia is a recurring theme throughout my practice, and I often find myself returning to memories and places that have shaped my sense of self. My work explores the spaces, objects, and relationships that carry emotional weight and act as vessels for remembrance. Areas of focus have included my grandmother’s home and the enduring presence of the furniture that absorbed generations of family memories, as well as reflections on my parents’ relationship within an increasingly technological world. Through painting, I seek to preserve fleeting moments and examine how memory is embedded within everyday environments and objects. By layering colour and imagery, I aim to create works that evoke a sense of familiarity and invite viewers to reflect on their own experiences of connection, time, and belonging.
