I am Hannah, a graphic designer whose practice centres on editorial design, information design, typography, and visual systems. I am interested in how design can translate complex ideas into accessible, engaging experiences, using research-led processes to organise information. My graduate project, “Threads Through Time”, explores the evolution of weaving methods and loom technologies through an information-led publication. Tracing weaving from ancient handcraft practices to contemporary industrial and digital production, the project examines how automation and mass production have distanced consumers from the knowledge, labour, and cultural significance embedded within textiles. The publication aims to reconnect readers with the history of weaving while demonstrating its continued relevance to conversations around sustainability, heritage, and conscious production. I did this through carefully structured editorial systems, technical diagrams, timelines, and tactile bookmaking. I was inspired by technical manuals and the physical qualities of woven materials. The publication integrates editorial design, information visualisation, and craft to transform historical research into an interactive reading experience.
