The main aspect of intervention was to preserve the traces of the past in the city of tomorrow, and to reinterpret an architectural heritage in a contemporary and innovative way. The brief began with an aspiration to expose the implicit value that brick and vault buildings of this character possess. The existing building has been stripped back to reveal sturdy timber trusses and raw brickwork.
