Louise Maher has been awarded an internship at the Galway 126 Gallery, where she and five other interns will curate an exhibition in November.
She has received a year long bursary to the Limerick Printmakers Studio where she will work towards a solo show in September 2017.

Louise's work intends to exalt the feminine form and dismiss western cultures hegemonic views of the ‘Ideal’ body and feminine beauty. With the use of layering and collage new forms are created in a discernible yet unfamiliar manner, they are grotesque, ambiguous, absurd, protruding, surreal and abnormal. There is a sense of suffocation, restriction and misalignment in the grotesque beauty created
