Michael Cleary's work repurposes architectural fragments or Spolia into the construction of objects that are without an obvious use or provenance. A common practice throughout history. Objects and buildings fabricated from Spolia often appear both familiar and alien, blurring the boundaries between past and present, authentic and inauthentic.
