For me, creativity is a continuous interaction with the world around me. I enjoy noticing the connections between objects, phenomena, and people, how they reflect and inform each other, and demonstrating familiar things from an unusual perspective. My practice is based on the exploration of vulnerability - I believe it is within this that honesty and true strength reside. Drawing on personal and cultural experiences, I explore issues of female identity, personal and social boundaries, and the nature of human relationships. Experimentation with various materials is part of my creative practice, which combines classical and contemporary approaches across various mediums. This series of works explores the female body and identity as objects of institutional control and erasure, examining them through the lens of the historical experience of the Magdalene laundries. Using a metaphorical approach in which the properties of the human body are transferred to architecture and its surfaces, and viewing architecture as a repository of memory and time, I chose the bedsheet as the main symbol. By embodying corporeality, the sheets point to women's journeys through this historical process and demonstrate the female body as a space of labor, constraint, and isolation. The sheets reveal traces of human presence and hold a history that resists complete disappearance. I present an installation of sheets from fabric, fragile wax, and concrete, folded into a memorial. Four canvas panels, like extensions of walls, beds, and graves, illustrate the path of women from birth to old age. Following the significance of the number forty, which is sacred in Christianity, I created forty concrete sheets over the course of forty days, thereby completing my personal ritual of commemorating all the victims of this tragedy.
