My practice centres on the relationship between the self and the body — the body as both a vessel for identity and a site of lived experience. My work investigates what it feels like to exist within a body, particularly the emotional and sensorial states that are difficult to articulate. Rather than depicting the body literally, I work abstractly to give form to sensation, memory, and internal consciousness. Some works explore physical and emotional states, where water and fluidity become metaphors for the body in flux. I work intuitively and autobiographically, drawing on personal experiences of embodiment. I use water-based media for its immediacy, its tendency to move, bleed, and respond, much like the body itself. Each piece becomes a kind of residue: a physical record of presence, process, and embodied experience.
