This collection is inspired by the rich visual language and sacred symbolism of the Catholic Church. For me and my family, Catholicism is more than just a religion it is a deeply rooted cultural tradition, especially as Filipinos. It influences not only our beliefs but also our way of life, celebrations, and personal identities.Having moved to Ireland, I found myself gradually stepping away from the faith I grew up with. However, in recent years, I’ve started a personal journey of reconnection dedicating more time to understanding and practicing Catholicism, and rediscovering my relationship with Christ. This collection is a reflection of that journey, an exploration of faith, identity, and cultural heritage through the lens of fashion design. As a designer, it was essential for me to approach this theme with deep respect and sensitivity. I made a conscious effort to stay true to my aesthetic while integrating religious and cultural references in a meaningful way. My aim was to create a collection that is both visually striking and spiritually thoughtful one that honors the sacred traditions I was inspired by, without compromising the integrity of my design language. It was also very important for me to use natural materials like, using 100% cotton fabrics to contribute to a more environmentally responsible practice aligning my creative vision with values of sustainability and ethical production.Through this work, I hope to express the power of personal narrative in design and how clothing can serve as a bridge between faith, culture, and contemporary creative practice.
