As an architect I am interested in creating places of value which weave into the existing physical and cultural context of a place. Over the past century the average lifespan of buildings has shortened considerably. This is not only extremely wasteful but is damaging to the grain of the city and to the human experience. An more inter-disiplinary approach is needed in city design.
