I am grateful and feel privileged to be included in the IAR New generation gallery 2023.I would describe my work, much like myself, as larger than life. I try to create work that inspires me, drives me to continue to develop, challenges me to explore and propels me to new levels of creativity. I create artworks in both 2D and 3D. I have created work in range of media including plaster, wood, metal, and recyclable materials to name but a few.I try to create 2D drawings which underpin the large 3D sculptures. Sketching and drawing in both 2D and 3D, helps me to get a deeper understanding of the subject I am focusing on. From the initial sketches I can imagine what features I need to include for my sculpture. Drawing helps me to imagine, develop and bring the sculptures to life. I love to experiment with weight, material, and various angles and perspectives a sculpture can be viewed from. My future plans would be to see where the rats are going to go. I have considered studying further and would like to explore some postgraduate avenues such as a masters in interior design or a PGCE.I would like to find employment that allows me time and motivation to continue to work on my Art. I would like to make more rats like Antony Gormley’s work field. I would like the rats to go on a tour of Ireland.
