Working primarily through painting and drawing, my research-informed practice explores personal narratives within broader societal commentaries on womanhood. Through figurative imagery and expanded painting methodologies, my practice investigates themes of sexism, misogyny, violence against women, trauma, disembodiment, power dynamics, vulnerability, and resilience. Considering the relationship between materiality, colour, structure, and display, employing architectural and domestic references as visual metaphors for lived experience, memory, and the hidden complexities of trauma.
