I chose to call this collection "Sun, It Rises" because it navigates themes of escapism, environmental crisis and the dreamlike lens of childhood innocence. This pairing of concepts not only evokes a sense of hope but also creates a touchingcommentary on our evolving relationship with nature and the realities of climate change. My aim for this collection is to show the intersection of hope, escapism and childhood innocence amongst a fragile environment landscape. 'Sun, it Rises' acts as a beacon of possibility in a time of uncertainty but also evokes the pure joy and simplicity of youth.By embracing these themes through a contrast of lightweight sheer fabrics like silkchiffon and organza to represent fragility and slightly heavier fabrics like silk satin and wool to represent the stubbornness of hope and humanity , this collectionencourages people to reflect on both their connection to nature and the urgency ofpreserving that beauty for future generations, ultimately encouraging a sense of hope that transcends challenges and draws from the innocence of our past.
