My name is Holly Walsh. I am an emotionally driven artist, working in painting, sculpture, and installation, graduating from the National College of Art and Design. For the last five years, my part-time job and my educational life have run in parallel. They have been active at the same time, all of the time. The experience is repetitious and familiar: the highs and lows of part-time work. You Know Where to Find Me combines my craft as an artist and my role as a supermarket bakery assistant, using the structure of the 'celebration cake' as a journal, rather than a special occasion, to represent my own inner dialogue. I am exploring the self in my paintings and how parts of you are pushed down to work instead. One white uniform, one objective, one part-time job. The artist is the baker, but by translating it onto the canvas, the baker is reclaimed by the artist.
