I am a little sister before I am anything at all. This collection, ‘the first person i understood on paper’, revolves around the fact that my older sister, Ellen, taught me how to read–but more than that, it is about growing and leaving and coming back. Always together. This work is something for everyone with a sister, but also for everyone who has ever acknowledged how small your world is when you’re younger and how big someone can make it. All stitched together, my work combines textile and illustration to create a collection that captures the strangely universal sense of intimacy, nostalgia, softness, and dependency that comes with sisterhood. Everything I make is packed full with love.
