I’m drawn to the human and the familiar, found objects, everyday materials, and the traces of use that reveal how things are handled, protected, and cared for. I’m interested in the moment when the familiar shifts into something quietly unfamiliar. This body of work began with discarded packaging, noticing how much of it is routinely thrown away. Through repeated gestures such as looping, knotting, and weaving, I reshape these industrial remnants into open, flexible structures that suggest nets or vessels, built from what is already at hand. Arranged throughout the space, the pieces lean, drape, and connect across the floor and walls, forming temporary systems of holding, reconnection, and support. Their colours sit between the natural and the industrial, using bright yellows, greens, and oranges which appear alongside the muted browns that emerge from the torn paper. Through handling, painting, and spraying, these colours shift away from their manufactured origins and begin to feel more connected to the body and the gestures that shape them. Making has always been part of my life. I first trained in mould making and manufacturing, and later, while caring for my young son, making became a steady, grounding practice. Over the years I’ve explored painting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and fashion design, each one teaching me something about touch, tension, and how materials behave. These experiences inform how I build my sculptures now, where small adjustments change how a form holds or supports itself. At the centre of the work is a belief that repair, in materials and in people, is an ongoing, attentive process.
