My name is Kealin Garvey, and I have recently completed a BA (Hons) in Film & Broadcasting at Technological University Dublin. Before enrolling in this course, I decided to do a PLC in Film & Television to make sure this was the right career for me and quickly realised this is my passion. It made me understand just how much I love the collaborative nature of film and I am looking forward to entering this booming industry. In my final year of this degree, I was fortunate enough to have my script chosen to be made into a short film. It was such an incredible opportunity to be able to write, direct and co-edit. Reincarnation Street is a dark comedy following the story of Fred on his journey to be reincarnated. While sitting in the waiting room he learns about other people’s experience with this process, Fred finds out that to be reincarnated as something good you must have behaved well in your original life. This leads to Fred confessing a dark secret he has been hiding. Getting the opportunity to create this film expanded my understanding of the communication, teamwork and focus that is required when creating a film.
