Hi! My name is Laura Masterson, a 22 year old stop motion animator and filmmaker based in North Dublin. My work mainly focused on showcasing the subconscious mind onscreen through the medium of animation, which is boundless in its possibilities. Personally, I'm drawn to stop motion for its tactility and physicality, which bring an uncannily human and handmade quality to film. This year I wrote, designed and directed my graduate film 'REM', guiding a team of over 25 students and graduates. Moving forward as a filmmaker, I hope to tell more stories that pull at the audience's inner emotions, representing feelings that aren't quite explainable with words.
