As a concept driven fashion designer with a love for storytelling I find inspiration in the act of experiencing new cultures, landscapes and friendships. Combining personal experiences with a paradoxical way of thinking often leads to work that has a complicated depth, undetectable from first glance.Traveling solo led to a shift in perspective, on the big questions of life and the little everyday things, consequently, my approach to the craft of fashion design and textiles matured. I prefer to take what may seem a ‘blank canvas’ and fill in the blanks, using the art of embroidery and print to create a richness of character and depth. This process of fabrication has become increasingly integral to my style. Acting as a ‘vehicle’ for communication unachievable through garment shapes and fabric manipulation.Skilled in the discipline of embroidery, free- hand machining feels as natural as pen to paper. Its delicate manner contrasted with the permanence of print is another visual depiction of the paradoxes mentioned earlier. Rooted in translating experiences into visual stories I create garments that compliment the journey of life, with modular elements and a colourless palette that enables a range of looks to be created with a consciously concise wardrobe. At the beginning of my design journey I believe I have something worth contributing to the industry and unbelievably excited to see where it leads.
