I am a textile designer specialising in both digital and screen-printed textiles. My process involves layering bold abstract motifs and further collaging them to create dimensional textile collections for interior spaces. Naturally, a lot of my inspiration comes from different architectural structures, deconstructing the elements to their fundamental components. I primarily focus on scale, composition and colour. I use these elements to create impact, bringing bold timeless designs to both commercial and interior spaces. As layering is vital to my design process, I initially begin collaging various materials in my sketchbook to produce simplistic and effective ideas to help grow my digital designs. During this creative process I experiment with texture, composition and negative space which is present throughout my work. My most recent collection ‘Mezzanine’ is a response to a collection of images I took reflecting my passion for Bauhaus and Mid-Century Modern architecture. This collection ultimately reveals the evolution of the translation of the structural elements of architecture into textile designs.
