I am Orna Costelloe Dunne. I am a Dublin-based artist and designer. I have an interest in fashion and printed Textile pieces that blur the lines between fashion and art. I work with a variety of found objects, repurposing materials, different textile techniques, and bold printed CAD, working with Photoshop, mixing digital media with different materials.I like working on different topics that happen around us. I like raising people's awareness of different situations in the world. I use storytelling through my work, different topics that may be hard to talk about, into wearable garments or installation sculpture pieces that have been displayed in different shop windows and gallery spaces For my final year degree project, called 'Swiping The Day Away', I am working on an interactive and installation of sculpture pieces to show how we are wasting time on social media and our phones. I have created different big sculpture balls to be an interactive piece where we show different situations or activities where we are on our phones, not being present with people around us. These are pieces that show different situations and activities that occur while we are on our phones. How our phones are consuming our minds and bodies I have created different wearable masks to highlight and to be photographed on different people in different locations, like the supermarket or hanging out with friends, to create an insight into how humans these days go on while living in a world with technology, this modern epidemic.
