When life seems flat and stagnant, I’ve found solace in the sensuous and strangeworld of composting materials. They remind me that I too am unfixed, always influx, and never separate from the world around me. This photographic project highlights the shifting andunstable nature of vibrant matter, with emphasis on melting the duality between material and body, these photos speak tointerdependence, mortality, and the impossibility of permanence. In an era defined by overconsumption, post production and microplasticcontamination, the work accepts amorphous thresholds as uncertain, intimate andeveryday embodied realities. In doing so, it proposes a shift in perception, fromone viewing matter as dead or disposable to another recognising its ongoingcapacity to affect and be affected.
