My practice centres on the relationship between the art object, the space it inhabits and the experiential concerns of the viewer. My installation 'Prop, Hold, Bear' is made from a number of construction and utility materials. These materials are arranged and fabricated in ways which interrogate the formal, spatial and affective potential of support. My work is influenced by concepts and philosophies of social space, but it is also rooted in the ongoing practical investigation of materiality and form. Through an engagement with elements of architecture, design and sculpture, the installation seeks to cultivate a reflection on the role of support though and within formal, material and civic contexts.
