I work with lens-based media and I am primarily motivated by narrative. My practise encompasses writing extensively, character work, photography (analogue and digital), performance, collaboration with other artists, music and song writing, as well as storytelling. I am drawn to themes of identity, love, womanhood, selfhood, and the concept of the human soul. I use characters to explore the complexities of the individual lived experience by pushing and pulling on my own personality. By exaggerating certain aspects of myself, I make art in different identities. I write extensively as fictional characters before becoming them in a real space, and interacting with the world through their eyes.I am an experimental film artist, and depending on the individual project, I use a variety of media to convey the story I am telling. Photography, moving image, drawing, music and monologues are all an important part of my work. I like to use whatever medium best conveys the story in specific moments or pieces. Most of my work is in colour, and some is in black and white, depending on the themes and concerns of the individual work.
