My work explores space, local environments and the materiality of place. I use frames and structured objects as a way to draw attention to a space, a subject or an emotion. I investigate a mixture of both rural and urban landscapes. I create sculpture structures as ‘tools’ to capture, explore, amplify and respond to different elements of these locations. As in landscape photography or painting, these structures capture and frame abstracted and curated views of their surroundings, highlighting and foregrounding specific elements of their location to create new viewpoints and narratives. I define my work as an interdisciplinary and hybrid practice in which my curiosity, imagination and questioning, define the process. This space cultivates the power of the imagination and narrative, creating a place for me to explore ideas rooted in my fascinations and concerns, which enables me to uncover personal reflections of my experiences in the world.
