Growing up with an Italian mother and a German father, I have had extensive exposure to diverse cultural experiences which serve as a key inspiration for my illustration. An interest in storytelling developed from the stories shared by my parents when I was a small child. My particular influence derives from video games, movies and graphic novels across many genres, specifically science fiction.When examining science fiction, I came to the realisation that stories, or folklore, are retold and passed down, evolving through generations. Through this, I looked back at the fairy tales my parents shared with me and picked one to share with you, as a science fiction story. The comic book format provides the perfect medium in which to work, with a mix of digital and traditional media, such as black ink. The results is a body of work focusing on mystery and discovery.
