While writing my thesis, I recorded a number of negative experiences shared by other neurodivergent teachers across Ireland. However, during my teaching placement, I experienced a world very different from theirs. The ways in which we think, perceive, and interpret the world around us may differ from our peers, but is that necessarily a bad thing? My work explores the journey from student to teacher through a neurodivergent lens, documenting details across the course of a decade through illustrative journals. The work acts as an ode to teaching and learning, and is dedicated to the teachers who helped shape who I am today.
