I am a printmaker whose practice explores the emotional connections we form with artefacts passed down to us. This exploration is deeply personal for me, rooted in my own experience of inheriting my nana's belongings after her passing. My artistic journey has evolved through the collection of personal items, creating an archive that holds cherished memories. As part of this process, I developed the concept of ‘imposture objects’—deliberately fabricated items accompanied by invented histories. These objects are meant to blur the lines between truth and fiction, reflecting the fragmented and often unreliable nature of memory itself. My work is primarily installation-based. One example is a series of constructed wooden boxes of varying sizes that function as vessels of memory and time, storing artefacts within an archival setting. Alongside these installations, I include a series of soft ground etchings—delicate, tactile pieces that preserve the essence of memory as a way to commemorate.
