My work explores folklore, memory, and the intersection of myth and lived experience, weaving these narratives through light, shadow, and architectural forms. Through research and introspection, I draw from storytelling, ritual, and symbolism, merging them with familial history and personal narratives. Folklore serves as both a collective memory and an individual lens to understand the world, and my practice bridges the two. By incorporating light and shadow, I emphasise how memory shifts—how certain details are illuminated while others fade into obscurity. Architectural elements become both physical structures and metaphorical spaces, reflecting the layered nature of history and identity. I use diverse materials—sculpture, textiles, embroidery, and mixed media—to explore texture, form, and surface, much like how light transforms space and perception. By combining mythological references, personal symbols, and structural compositions, I create works that highlight the continuity of stories, the persistence of cultural identity, and the evolving relationship between past and present. My art invites viewers into an interplay of presence and absence, solidity and ephemerality—where ancient and contemporary narratives coexist. It is an ongoing dialogue between the personal and the collective, revealing how myth, like light and shadow, can shape, sustain, and transform our perception of the world.
