‘Wood’ at the Leitrim Design House, Carrick-on-Shannon is a new collection of sculptural wooden forms by Richard West, created from material gathered from storm-damaged tress. West employs the Japanese technique of yakisugi to embellish some of his pieces, using
fire to char the surface. Further detail is added with waxes, oils and, in some instances, metal leaf.
