My work explores escapism through animation, humour, and conflict. Inspired by the playful energy and emotional storytelling of Adventure Time, I created a 2D animated cartoon about two characters who become trapped inside a video game world. While one character is desperate to escape, the other becomes attached to the freedom and chaos of the game itself. In a world where we are constantly searching for ways to escape reality, I wanted to place that idea under a microscope and ask who is actually right. Using exaggerated movement, colourful environments, and comedic tension, the project explores fantasy, friendship, and the comfort people can find within imagined worlds, while ultimately reflecting on how reality can hold more weight and meaning than escapism ever can.
