I explore intergenerational and cultural trauma within a deeply personal context, focusing on how pain, injustice, and unspoken stories are passed down through generations, both within families and as part of a collective cultural memory. As an artist from the Czech Republic, I am intensely interested in analysing how the cage of the communist regime affects both my own identity and our contemporary culture. Through visual language, I attempt to reveal and disrupt these inherited patterns, opening a space to confront how the past continuously shapes our present behaviours and how we relate to the world. My practice inherently evolves through installation, performance, drawing, photography, and video. Conceptually, I am fascinated by searching for repetition, studying patterns within my own practice, human behaviour and the broader political history. I aim to work with materials unpredictably, exploring how both matter and movement can carry deep emotional weight. For my final show, I worked with materials such as cling film, fishing line, yellow string and concrete building blocks. These elements directly reference the domestic environment while offering a sharp contrast between the delicate, translucent nature of memory and the heavy, industrial reality of the structures. I created an immersive space conceived as an "in-space drawing." This static environment of concrete and string is activated through two video works and a performance, transforming it into a living dialogue. In the first video, I physically navigate the environment while a projection of the same act is overlaid onto the scene. It creates an echo where my physical body must negotiate and react to its own past self in a continuous loop. The second, more atmospheric video captures the raw tension of the space. Together, this work serves as a metaphor for human development, something layered, haunted, and constantly being reconstructed.
